I like picking out race outfits – coordinating some sort of theme, colors…noting weather conditions, type or distance of race – all that good stuff.
Of course, with the FUN races (associated with a holiday, destination or a runDisney event) the outfits follow suit…
…and some go ALL OUT with amazing custom-designed running costumes!
…so I was thinking…since I’ll be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon (now moved to November 2012) with the hubs, we’ll be in Disney…and if all goes well, I’ll be back down again in January 2013 for the 20th running of the Walt Disney World Marathon (and if all continues to go well, the 2014 Princess Half) how fun would it be to take the plunge and fashion a FUN running costume that would be used for at LEAST three events?
So here’s what I am thinking…
Now, I have several routes I can take with this idea…as shown above and since I have a bit over 11 months to get the first working prototype in order, I am not strapped for time, but I would LOVE your ideas!

Have you ever ran a race in costume?

Yes! it does make it more fun…except when there are aspects of your costume that don’t work so well when running. Britt and I sewed kilts for one and my shorts underneath weren’t quite long enough to prevent chafing, so that was an uncomfortable one. Since you’ve got so much time though, you can do test runs which is nice!
Y’all getting stoked for TINKERBELL!?!??!?!?
I was thinking I would prob order a running skirt and work the costume from there
I just laughed SO hard while picturing Brad dressed up as Mushu. Bahahaha!
Um, right? At the least he has a red pullover now….
